Frequently Asked Questions

What are the basic requirements I need in order to take a motorcycle training class?
You must be able to ride a bicycle

Do I need my own motorcycle?
We will provide a motorcycle for the Basic RiderCourse.  We have a variety of makes and models to meet the different heights of students.  Riders need their own motorcycle only for the Basic RiderCourse 2.

What is the difference between the Basic RiderCourse and the Basic RiderCourse 2?

The Basic RiderCourse 2 is for participants who already know how to ride and own their own motorcycle.  These riders need to earn their motorcycle endorsement.  The Basic RiderCourse however is for participants who want to learn to ride or who need to brush up on their skills before testing for their endorsement.

Do I need my own helmet?
It is recommended that you bring your own helmet, but we do have helmets that you can borrow during the class.  While we do sanitize the helmets after each class, you should wear a bandana if you need to borrow one.

What do I have to wear?
You must wear the following (please note-you will not be allowed to participate if you do not wear all of the items from the list below):

 - DOT-compliant helmet

 - Eye protection (helmet face shield, glasses, goggles)

 - Long-sleeve shirt or jacket
- Long, non-flare pants made of denim or equivalent or more durable material
- Over-the-ankle footwear (no high-heeled, steel toes or platform boots)

 - Full-finger gloves, no cut-off fingers gloves

What do I need to do in order to pass the class?

To successfully graduate, students must:

 - Attend all sessions

 - Be on time for all sessions

 - Score 80% or better on a written evaluation

 - Pass an on-cycle skills evaluation

If I am under 18, can I still take the class?
A student can take the class at 16 years of age, but ALL students under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian attend the first range day of class to sign a waiver form. Students under the age of 18 will NOT be allowed to attend unless a parent or legal guardian is present to sign the waiver  (NO EXCEPTIONS).  Please Note: Students must be 17 or must turn 17 within 90 days of successfully passing the class in order to earn their motorcycle endorsement from the state of Georgia.

What if I signed up but can't attend?

Due to increasing demand for courses, we cannot issue refunds nor can we reschedule you into another course. There are NO refunds and NO rescheduling.  Please be sure that you can attend the course you chose before you register and pay.

What if I'm late or can't attend 1 of the 2 days?

If you miss or are late for any session, you will NOT be allowed to continue in the class and you will NOT be issued a refund nor rescheduled.  There are no make-up classes, nor is there time to review missed material.

Does the weather stop a class?
Dress for weather conditions.  We rarely cancel a course because of weather.  Due to variables beyond our control, the weather may extend some course times, so allow additional time in your schedule in case a session runs later than scheduled.
